I was scammed in 2020.

And that's how Doncamera started.



It was in August.

My brother and I went on a trip to Mexico.

Everything was going normally. It wasn't our first time in Mexico — we loved it there.

But this time, in the airport duty-free shop, we saw a camera we'd never seen before.

A disposable camera.

We paid 30€ for it. I remember perfectly it could take 27 photos.


HERE COMES THE SURPRISE...


27 photos might not sound like a lot...

And they are, because we were so afraid of using them up that we ended up with some left over.


But that's not the worst part...


When we got back, we went to a place to get them developed, and when they told us the price, we turned around and walked right out.


But that's not the worst part...


As I’m writing this (six years later), the camera still hasn’t been developed, and the film has expired. In other words, those memories are gone forever.


We didn’t just waste €30.
We lost the memories too


...
Not long after that, Doncamera was born.


The phone was never really an option (every photo looks the same, and it just distracts you), but disposable cameras weren't either... so we combined the best of both worlds.


And that's how it all started.
